Rock climbing is a super exciting sport in itself and can be practiced with two or alone. More often rock climbing is done in pairs: there is one who climbs and one who belays. It is important to have an adequate and sane partner to whom you can trust your life. And you yourself understand how important it is to properly insure.

The peculiarities of rock climbing are the constant variety of training grounds and the informal organization of the process. Classes are really non-standard – an amateur can train from two and a half to four hours, while a beginner can do just one and a half. For those and others, the lesson necessarily begins with a warm-up and warming up the muscles. Further – the choice of several tracks of average difficulty, corresponding to the level of the athlete, and work on them. At first, you will be taught how to move and carry weight correctly; after that, you can try to climb the slopes at the maximum limits of their capabilities. With beginners, we initially climb the volume and learn basic skills: working with our hands in a cross, the correct position of the body, the position of the legs. The workout is completed by a “hitch” and exercises for general physical fitness: campus board (finger training), pull-ups, pumping the press, squats. Be sure to tell the work plan before starting the training and at the end – to analyze the results. You need to be prepared for the fact that due to the strong tension on your hands from habit, it will be difficult for the next few days to do something with your hands. This usually doesn’t stop anyone.

Rock climbing makes you experience incredible sensations of movement not only in the plane of the floor but in 3D. Of course, an unprepared person will immediately feel that he lacks muscles in some places, as well as thinking – which leg or arm needs to be moved in order to rise higher. Climbing helps to develop resistance to physical and psychological stress and learn to take complete control over your actions. The biggest problem will not be physical fitness, but the fear of heights. And that’s okay. This can be learned to manage. rock climbing develops the head much more than the body. You learn to think strategically, to concentrate on the essentials in a stressful environment. From physical abilities, endurance, fine motor skills, and the ability to knit all kinds of rope knots develop. From the very first lesson, you get rid of your fears and learn to overcome yourself – even if you have no strength at all, you need to make an attempt to reach higher.

Fed up with climbing on artificial climbing walls, you can go to the natural terrain. This sport is very closely related to travel, almost every climber travels to different countries, hones his skills on different breeds. even if you start in the gym, you will still get to the mountains at some point.

When climbing, the muscles of the back and arms begin to hurt first. Even if you do not specifically pull up, after a year of regular training, you can easily pull up at least eight times. Since the load is aerobic, over time the body dries up, tightens, and abs cubes can appear. The average climber is lean, fit, and wiry.

As with any exercise, diet plays an important role. It is clear that here, too, healthy food is a friend, and fast food and soda are enemies. Climbing burns a lot of calories, but the trick is that the less you weigh, the easier it is for you to climb. To consolidate the result of the day and allow the muscles to recover faster, after training it is necessary to fill the food “window” with protein-carbohydrate food. Here, everything is individual, but many people fit the “from carbohydrates to proteins” scheme: to have the strength to climb, in the morning and before training it is useful to recharge with slow carbohydrates – cereals with dried fruits and seeds for example – which will provide energy, and in the evening – proteins.

Climbing is a serious sport that requires specific equipment, the selection, and purchase of which can take some time. First of all, you will need a comfortable sports uniform that covers your knees and does not restrict movement. After that, you need to pick up climbing shoes – rubberized shoes for climbers, which are specially selected one size (or two) smaller for better contact with the terrain. It is necessary to purchase a fall arrest system to which the climbing rope is tied. It consists of a harness and a special safety device with a carabiner. You will need magnesium, a talc-like substance that prevents your hands from sliding over the holds. It is put in a special bag that is hung on the climber’s belt. Climbing is quite an expensive hobby, therefore, if a person is not sure of the seriousness of his intentions, but if you don’t buy anything, take it from the rental point at the climbing wall. It is convenient to have removable shoes with you, like flip-flops, which can be easily removed and put on if necessary.
